• To ensure security, we control communications between guest rooms. Note that that ability to transmit and receive communications between guest rooms has been disabled.
• When VPN is used, communications are enabled only with IPsec NAT traversal-compatible products, and under the compatible settings. (Note: Communication may be disabled depending on product specifications and settings.)

How to use this service

1．Before using this service

To use this service, you need the following items:

• Your PC and LAN terminal (RJ-45) incorporated in the PC, or LAN card

To use high-speed Internet connections, please understand that any changes to your PC environment are your own responsibility. The following setting procedure is described with a PC using “Microsoft Windows XP SP2” in mind.

2. Connecting procedure

1. Take out the LAN cable provided in the writing desk or dresser table into a guest room.
2. Connect the LAN cable with your PC.
3. Turn ON the power switch of your PC.
4. After the OS of your PC has completed startup, open “Internet Explorer” (Web browser).
5. After “Internet Explorer” is opened, the home page of Kyoto Hotel Okura should be displayed.

About E-mail transmission

In some cases, e-mail transmission/reception with the Internet system in a guest room may be disabled. E-mail transmission may not be available depending on specifications of the ISP (Internet Service Provider) being used. If e-mail is not available even though you can browse the web page, it is possible that there is a problem in the specifications or settings of the ISP being used, which in turn causes a connection error.

About VPN connections

For VPN connections via the Internet, there are the following limitations:

1. The IP address that can be used in a guest room is a private IP address.
2. IPsec protocol compatible with IPsec NAT traversal should be used.
3. Access from the Internet is disabled.
